Project: Campaign on Renewable Energy in East Sumba, Indonesia.

Community campaign awareness on renewable energy infrastructure development project in East Sumba.

PLTS Project (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya/Solar Power Plant) is an infrastructure project to build a solar power plant to provide renewable energy for electricity to 5 villages in East Sumba, Indonesia. The unique model of this development is community participation by contributing part of their land to the project. To build a good sense of belonging to the development before and after the project, the project requires communication tools to introduce the project’s purpose and goal to the village community. Getting them involved in the process and letting them know what to expect and prepare during the PLTS Project development is crucial, it raises their awareness and allows them to ask questions and be a part of the project.

We prepare communication set materials as campaign tools to be used to raise awareness, project introduction, and presentation aid.  The 5 villages are located off the grid in remote areas. Therefore,  they have not been exposed to visual communication the way it is represented in cities. Visually the communication set needs to appeal to the community so they can make sense of the message they are getting.

Casual design and illustrations are the key elements to grabbing their attention. We create customized illustrations to suit local characters, and atmospheres to provide relatable visuals to get the message across…see more artwork
